Grand Canal is the main water-road of Venice, 4 km long and with more than 200 magnificent buildings belonged to the Venetian nobles and the Doges (Head of the Venetian republic). Venetian aristocrats used them as showrooms of their products and activities. Ships came from all over the world to deposit their exotic products in front of these magnificent buildings. During this incredible experience the boat will pass under the oldest bridge of Venice: Rialto.

  • Ending point: Embarkation point of San Zaccaria, close to St. Mark’s Square or Embarkation point of Piazzale Roma.
  • Availability & operation: From May 2018 to March 2020- Not available on December 25th and January 1st
  • Departure and meeting: Every day - At your leisure, by day or by night.
  • Inclusion: Self- guided tour by mobile app with pictures, audio and written commentary of the exterior of 24 attractions and points of interest. (to download on your mobile) - 1 ticket for public boat valid only for line number 1. (75 minutes journey)
  • Duration: About 1 hour

On the gallery you can find the pictures with the itinerary of the Self-guided tour-You will receive an e-mail with the QR code, public boat ticket and instructions to activate the mobile app - You can use it anytime by night and by day how many times you want -  Public boat timetable: every 10 minutes by day and every 20/25 minutes by night - You must take the line 1 of the public boat to do properly the tour - Print your public boat ticket before arriving at the mooring point - You must download the app on your mobile phone BEFORE starting the tour - This app won’t use up any data connection as it runs on GPS only - Please pay attention, our App is totally independent from your operator’s App. On your device will appear Pop Guide icon - For general conditions refer to our brochure “Discovering Venice”
The embarkation point of San Zaccaria is close to Saint Mark’s Square. If you have the Doge Palace in front of you just turn right and cross the Ponte (bridge) della Paglia. Then go straight until Hotel Danieli, on the right side you will see the Mooring point “San Zaccaria” letter “E” from when the public boat number 1 starts.

The embarkation point in Piazzale Roma is on the left side of Calatrava Bridge.  If you have the Car terminal on your back, go straight until the Calatrava Bridge and on the left side you will see the embarkation point Piazzale Roma, go straight until the mooring point letter “D” from where the public boat line 1 starts.
