Murano , Torcello & Burano: are the most famous islands of the Lagoon, rich of culture and history. On this experience you will discover the birth place of the venetian Republic, Torcello, and also the two best artisan excellences of Venice the Murano Glass and Burano laces.
The first stop is the Murano: the island of the glass. You will have the opportunity to discover the ancient glassblowing art with a demonstration in a real furnace: a master craftsman will realize a glass item just in front of your eyes and using the ancient processing techniques handed down from a generation to other since centuries. You will be able to buy a local production on the spot as a special souvenir!
After a suggestive ride through the lagoon you will reach the quiet and green Torcello: a small island immersed in the nature. You will wonder to know that it was the first venetian center of civilization, here the ancient Republic of Serenissima was born. Admire the oldest cathedrals of the lagoon as “Santa Maria Assunta” with its splendid golden mosaics dates back to the 10th century!
The last stop is Burano: the most picturesque island with the narrow streets lined by multicolored houses. Here the lace-production is celebrated worldwide. You could go (by yourself) to visit the Museo del Merletto. Do not miss the opportunity to go in a pastry and taste the delicious local sweet “Bussolà”.
