Save Venice: walking tour of Venice High Tide

Desde EUR 3

Venice Tours offer a guided walking tour without charge to restore Venice and its artistic treasury: at the end of the tour, you can leave a free donation for the restoration of the San Giacomo Church that suffered several damanges for the High Tide.

A 45 minutes walking tour in the heart of Venice: the guide will bring you through the labyrinth of “calli” (Venetian narrow streets”) to admire historical places as Piazza San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, Rialto Bridge and much more. All these places are the most affected by the “Acqua Alta” and the guide will narrate how the Venetians faced Venice High Tide in the past: in the ‘700 they went on gondola in Piazza San Marco when the water was very high!

The route ends in the ancient San Giacometto Church of Rialto, one of the oldest churches of Venice rich of artworks and architectonic treasury.

The church suffered several damages during the 12th November High Tide and for this reason, at the end of the tour, you’ll be free to leave a donation for the restoration of the church.
